Ripple has unveiled Ripple Mint, a new institutional platform designed to streamline access to its US dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD). The announcement comes as RLUSD’s market capitalization approaches $1.6 billion, solidifying its position among the top 10 USD-backed stablecoins. The platform represents a significant step in Ripple’s strategy to deepen institutional adoption of digital dollar infrastructure.

Ripple Mint functions as a unified interface that enables institutions to access, mint, redeem and manage RLUSD through either a web-based dashboard or direct API integrations. The platform caters to both manual operations and automated workflows, addressing the diverse needs of institutional users engaging in payments, trading and treasury management activities. This flexibility reflects Ripple’s commitment to making stablecoin infrastructure accessible across different operational models.

The company announced Ripple Mint on Thursday, emphasizing that the platform is built to provide institutions with flexible access to digital dollars through workflows tailored to their specific requirements. By offering multiple integration pathways, Ripple aims to lower barriers to entry for enterprises seeking to incorporate stablecoins into their financial operations. This approach aligns with broader industry trends toward institutional adoption of blockchain-based financial infrastructure, as seen in institutional traders’ increasing positioning in digital assets.

RLUSD itself launched in December 2024 with an explicit focus on institutional use cases. However, the stablecoin has expanded its reach to include retail users, demonstrating broader market appeal. The token achieved remarkable growth, reaching the top 10 USD-pegged stablecoins by market capitalization in less than one year following its launch. This rapid ascent underscores strong demand for institutional-grade stablecoin solutions.

According to data from CoinGecko, RLUSD reached its all-time high market capitalization of $1.8 billion on June 1, 2026. Around the time of Ripple Mint’s launch, RLUSD’s market cap briefly surged from approximately $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion before settling near $1.59 billion. At the time of publication, RLUSD ranked as the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization, reflecting its growing significance within the stablecoin ecosystem.

The launch of Ripple Mint addresses a critical need in the institutional crypto market. As enterprises increasingly explore stablecoin adoption for cross-border payments, treasury operations and trading activities, the infrastructure supporting these use cases must evolve accordingly. Ripple Mint’s dual interface approach, combining user-friendly web access with sophisticated API capabilities, positions the platform to serve institutions at various stages of blockchain adoption.

The platform’s design reflects lessons learned from RLUSD’s first year of operation. By consolidating minting, redemption and management functions into a single interface, Ripple reduces operational complexity for institutional users. This consolidation can significantly reduce the time and resources required for institutions to integrate RLUSD into their existing financial systems.

Ripple’s focus on institutional infrastructure extends beyond RLUSD itself. The company has positioned itself as a key player in the broader movement toward central bank digital currencies and institutional stablecoin adoption. Ripple Mint represents another step in this direction, providing the technical and operational foundation necessary for large-scale institutional deployment.

The stablecoin market continues to evolve rapidly, with multiple competitors vying for institutional market share. USDC, USDT and other established players maintain larger market capitalizations, but RLUSD’s growth trajectory suggests meaningful institutional demand for alternative stablecoin solutions. Ripple Mint’s launch could accelerate this adoption by removing friction from the institutional onboarding process.

Looking forward, Ripple Mint may serve as a template for how stablecoin issuers approach institutional infrastructure. By prioritizing flexibility, ease of integration and operational efficiency, Ripple has created a platform that addresses real pain points in institutional stablecoin adoption. As the digital asset ecosystem matures, such infrastructure improvements will likely become increasingly important for driving mainstream institutional participation.
