Nicole Junkerman Ventures to Web3
Nicole Junkermann and Randi Zuckerberg, the sister to the renowned Mark Zuckerberg, believe that Web3 technology will change the world by heralding a new, decentralized internet hosted on the blockchain.
They believe that we are still in the early stages of Web3 adoption and that now is the time to build the infrastructure that will enable global internet users to access this new technology.
Nicole Junkermannn, while leading this thought process of a web3 creator economy, was heard in an interview saying: “As this market grows, and there is more and more content to sift through – more posts, more tweets, more Twitch channels, and more NFTs – then consumers are going to need a platform through which they can curate said content.”
Backing this statement, she also invested in web3 through a project founded by Randi Zuckerberg called “Assemble.”
This occurred during the period in which the web3 creator economy recorded sky-touching heights and the blossom of the NFT economy. Randi and Nicole founded Assemble, a company that invests in the future of Web3 social curation.
Over time, Assemble launched The HUG, a curation platform for Web3 creators, and “Group HUG,” an accelerator that champions women-led crypto businesses and creators.
The HUG is seen as a creator-first (“Web3 Pinterest meets Yelp”) platform for digital asset creators to show off their creations in NFTs and other forms of collectibles.
Adoption of Web3 technology is considerably faster in developing and frontier markets than in more mature markets,” says Nicole.
“Just as people bypassed dial-up in favour of faster internet once it was available, so consumers in markets in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America, in particular, will bypass Web2.”
Nicole Junkerman and Web3 Platform – Group HUG
Nicole Junkerman’s web3 dive was met with a lot of enthusiasm from her fans, especially from the women-led web3 communities.
After the formation of Assemble with Randi Zuckerberg in June 2021, Nicole and Randi took a further step in web3 by creating a platform called Group HUG, an accelerator for female entrepreneurs in web3 in February 2022.
The whole aim of this web3 project was to take advantage of blockchain technology to create a decentralized platform for NFT creators to create and show off NFTs with features similar to those of a social media platform.
Over the period of her interviews, Randi believes that The HUG is a dream project for her as someone who has lived her life at the intersection of technology and art. She believes that the creator economy is worth more than $100 billion worldwide, with more than 50 million self-described creators: it is the future of the arts.
At Facebook, Randi pioneered Facebook Live; it basically changed the way public figures interacted with their followers in real time.
Now, Randi and Nicole intend to do the same for people around the world, on countless different platforms and in dozens of countries – all by using Web3 technology.
They intend to build Group HUG as a platform for self-proclaimed creators to show off their work and skills to a global audience, fostering a vibrant digital community where creativity knows no boundaries.
